Choose the right color for your hair

Hair color is a great way to subtly and sometimes drastically change your entire appearance. The right hair product color can make you look fab with very little effort. Choosing the right color can be a challenge especially for a starter. Follow these steps below and we believe you will find the perfect color.

a. Find you hair color in our color system.

UniWigs provides various colors for all our hair products and we will continue to update new colors based on the latest trends. Try to blend a color that is slightly lighter or darker than your own hair as it is likely to look more natural and will add depth and variance to your color.

d. Send us a picture for reference.

We do not recommend this way because of the color variations on different screens. If you are matching your own hair color, please include more than one photograph of yourself taken under different lighting conditions for comparison. If you prefer a color other than your own, you can send us a photo that can exactly show your favorite hair color.

Please keep in mind that color can be very subjective. What one person considers dark brown, for example, may be medium brown to another. If you are still hesitating about the hair colors, please contact us at [email protected]. Our designers will give you a detailed guide in selecting a color you desire.

Match the length, density, and texture with your bio hair

a. Find you hair color in our color system.

Please take the following picture as a reference to choose the right length. We strongly recommend you to choose a longer length than your bio hair to ensure the hair topper blends your hair perfectly.

b. Choose the right density

Hair density refers to how thick the hair is. Deciding which density to choose is a personal preference. Some people prefer a little more volume, while others prefer a more natural look, and some people like to have glamorous and full red-carpet-star volume.

Hair Density Hair Outcome
Extra light 50% This density is too thin.
Light 80% This is an extra light density. Here, when the hair is parted it shows the scalp, making the hair look unreal.

Light to

medium 100% - 120%

This hair density is like the one above, when the hair is parted it shows the scalp. But this hair density is best suited to women 65+
Medium 130% This is a regular hair density. Nowadays this density is on trend in the wig market.

Medium to

heavy 150%

This is the normal hair density ideally suited for women in their 20s, 30s, and even 40s.
Heavy 180% This density is a heavy one. This density only suits a special type of thick wigs.
Extra heavy 200% We do not recommend this hair density.

Most women can achieve a natural appearance with a light to medium or a medium hair density. Densities between 100% and 130% are considered light to medium density.

Keep in mind that just because a hair topper has a low density does not mean that it cannot cover up hair loss or hair thinning. Similarly, a higher density topper does not mean that it can cover up more hair loss or more hair thinning. The coverage is all up to the base size that is chosen. Hair density only refers to how thick the hair is.

At UniWigs, 130% is the most popular hair density. This density is considered to be a medium density. If a client wants to choose a natural looking hair topper, a hair topper in a density of 130% would be a great choice.

c. Choose the right texture

Here are all the wavy/curly hair toppers we have. If you cannot find the right texture for your bio hair, we recommend you to purchase a straight hair topper and curl the hair with a curling iron.
