My Fight against Hair Loss & PCOS

My name is Vickie. And this is the story about my fight against the hair loss.
I have PCOS related hair loss since I was 30. I was able to conceal it through my late 40s but then had to resort to wearing wigs (synthetic because I could not afford human hair!). By the time I retired from my job a couple of years ago, I had HATED wearing the wigs; they were hot, uncomfortable, and itchy! Since then, I've been doing a deep part with a comb-over which my sister says makes it so that you can "hardly tell"; (she is being kind).
I have a medium-toned reddish-blond hair that is going gray and is so thin my scalp shines thru like a beacon. I've avoided being in photos for quite a while, but my niece is being married next month, and I have vowed to be in some pictures (it would also be nice for my son & granddaughter to have some photos of me in later life).
I stumbled across the Uniwigs hair toppers on YouTube and took the plunge. I purchased the 12" Bella, silk top in the shade of Almont Frost and received it in the mail yesterday (Yay!).
First Reaction: WOW! Beautiful hair. I put it on my head "out of the box" with the center part and all, and it still looked great on me! What a difference--I can't believe it, I look so much younger!
After setting the part to the right and letting the hair dry overnight, I was ready to "do" my hair. I trimmed my bio hair about 1 - 1 1/2 inches so that it is a little shorter than the topper. Put Bella on and used a curling iron to make loose waves in both my bio & topper hair together. I added a little dark eye shadow to the roots of the bio hair around my face, and I am amazed by how natural it looks -- the top lays flat against my head, the topper is secure, and my hair blends right beautifully!!!
