4 DIY Face Masks You Can Make at Home

Bananas are rich in potassium and Vitamin A, which repairs dehydrated skin and smooths aging and stressed-out skin. This mask will leave your skin nourished, soft, and glowing, restoring moisture.

You will need:
• 1 ripe banana
• 1 tablespoon of honey
• 1 tablespoon of natural yoghurt

Method:
• Use a small bowl to mash up the banana with a fork.
• Add the honey and yogurt and mix together.
• Make sure your skin is clean and freshly washed, and then apply the mixture to your face.
• Relax and leave the mask on your face for 10 to 15 minutes.
• Wash off with cool water and pat dry with a clean towel.
• For best results, apply an alcohol-free toner and then a serum and nourishing moisturizer on top to lock in moisture.

Tomato Face Mask

To banish excess oils on your skin and reduce acne, this tomato-based DIY face mask is an excellent mask for people with oily skin. Tomatoes are rich in Vitamin C and antioxidants, which give the skin a soft and clear appearance by reducing pores and blackheads. This mask uses natural yoghurt, but honey or cucumber would also work well.

You will need:
• 1 ripe tomato
• 1 tablespoon of natural yoghurt

Method:
• Use a small bowl to mash up the tomato.
• Mix the tomato mixture with the natural yoghurt.
• Make sure your skin is clean and freshly washed, and then apply the mixture to your face.
• Relax and leave the mask on your face for 10 minutes.
• Wash off with cool water and pat dry with a clean towel.
• For best results, apply an alcohol-free toner and then a serum and oil-free moisturizer on top.

Turmeric Face Mask

Turmeric has many beauty benefits due to its high antioxidant content which can help to reduce inflammation and pigmentation on the face. Turmeric face masks are wonderful at healing acne, acne scarring, improving fine lines and wrinkles, and evening out skin tone. Due to turmeric's golden color, it can stain paler skin yellow, so always perform a patch test on your arm for up to 5 minutes to see if it stains. If staining occurs, pat the skin with a milk-soaked cotton pad.

You will need:
• 1 teaspoon of turmeric
• 4 to 5 drops of lemon juice
• 1 tablespoon of yoghurt

Method:
• Mix all the ingredients together in a small bowl.
• Make sure your skin is clean and freshly washed, and then apply a very thin layer of the mixture onto your face.
• Relax and let the mask sit on your face for 10 minutes (do not leave it on for longer than 10 minutes or staining may occur).
• Wash off with cool water and pat dry with a clean towel.
• For best results, apply an alcohol-free toner and then a serum and nourishing moisturizer on top to lock in moisture.

Honey and Egg Face Mask

This honey and egg face mask is wonderful at nourishing and smoothing the skin and is great for normal to dry skin complexions. Although it may seem counterproductive to put something sticky like honey onto your skin, honey has antibacterial properties that help to balance the bacteria on your face, as well as healing and polishing skin texture. Meanwhile, the egg yolks are rich in fatty acids that offer moisture. This egg and honey mask will ultimately leave you with a glowing complexion.

You will need:
• 2 tablespoons of honey (raw honey or manuka works best, but any will do)
• 2 egg yolks
• 1 teaspoon of almond or olive oil

Method:
• Blend the egg yolks in a small bowl.
• Add the honey and oil to the egg yolk mixture and blend.
• Make sure your skin is clean and freshly washed, and then pat the mixture onto your face.
• Relax and let the mask dry on your face for 10 minutes.
• Wash off with cool water and pat dry with a clean towel.
• For best results, apply an alcohol-free toner and then a serum and nourishing moisturizer on top to lock in moisture.
